The view back along the passage from the
northern chamber.
The passage between the protruding southern wall slab (right) and the portal
stones (centre background) runs through the
fabric of the small round cairn that houses the chamber. This cairn was later
buried under the huge mass of the long cairn when
it was built. The present passage is a modern construction, the original
obviously much narrower, as is shown by the protruding slab.
Note the concrete dome that now roofs the chamber, this too is completely buried in
the long cairn mass.
