The three large stones centre right are the surviving inner kerb stones, here we
see their rear faces, these would have originally been
covered by the cairn fill that would have occupied all of the foreground space.
The arc of large stones running off to the left are not part of
the original cairn structure, they have been dumped here after the destruction
of the cairn. This rubble has been the major cause of
confusion regarding the original form of the cairn, persuading several authors
to claim the cairn had an irregular form, when it is more
likely that it was a classic circular concentric design.
