Cuween Hill

 

The entrance to the north compartment of the western side cell viewed from the south compartment.
The western side cell is divided into two compartments by the large edge-set kerb stone, lower centre photo, and the lintel and walling above this.
There is only one entrance from the main chamber for both compartments and this can be seen far right.
Charelson discovered a recess located between the right edge of the kerb stone and the entrance walling, it contained a slab bearing a skull. The
recess is no longer visible, perhaps a victim of the consolidation works involving the insertion of the metal support beams to the entrance.
