Most of the central area here would have been occupied by the bulk of the stone
closing plug when it was in place and the tomb sealed. Because of this
it is likely that this area was only used for access and any depositions would
have been in the two side cells. left and right. The distance to the rear wall
from the doorway sill is about 2.3m, so the 1.6m long sealing stone would not
have completely filled this space, leaving a 0.7m gap if were fully inserted
flush
with the outer face.
