Northern cell viewed from the southern.
The northern chamber is 1.25m long, 0.6m wide and 0.7m high. The cell has very
rounded corners and is separated from the rest of the space by a low kerb
just visible centre photo. Note the two faint "niches" carved into the
walls. The rock above this cell is only 0.15m thick and robbers cut through here
to gain access
to the chamber when the closing plug was still in place. The large darker area
in the roof is a patch inserted in 1972 to seal the robber's hole.
Note the neatly worked bevel in the rock above the entrance doorway.
