Relocation.
The monument was excavated and relocated in 1972-3 as it originally occupied a
site that lay under the footprint of the proposed path of the new A9 road.
The original location of Stoneyfield is shown by the red circle, the kerbs were
relocated to a site 410m to the south, shown by the blue circle.
North is right. We do wonder why it was not just moved 50m to the NE, as the
location would be nearer to its original setting and.............
not on an industrial estate.
