Wideford Hill

 

Northern wall of the main chamber.
Apart from a a small section of walling below the side chamber lintel all of the stones here are full-width slabs.
The corbelling, or gradual tapering in of the walls is very evident here, the purpose being to reduce the width
at the top that had to be spanned by the roof-stones.
