A distant view of Arbor Low looking SW from the Gib
Hill Barrow.
Note the pronounced slope of the site as it is situated on a hillside, the southern entrance is just visible as a notch in the bank to the right.
It is interesting to realise that the bank, so white in infrared, would have
been almost white in visible light when the henge was built as it is
largely composed of limestone. The contrast between this and the mostly green
landscape must have been breathtaking.
