Arbor Low

The henge interior viewed through the narrower of the two entrances at the SSE.
The circle of fallen stones was almost certainly originally erect, one stone is still lying at an angle and the stumps of 7 broken stones are present.
There would originally have been 41-43 stones in the ring and they would have stood about 2m tall, even the tallest would not have been visible
above the bank from the exterior, only the entrances would have allowed a view of the stones.
There is a stone lying on one side of the entrance (bottom left) and behind it a stump, these may be the only remains of one of a pair of "portal" stones
that originally flanked this entrance. Two stones just visible in the ditch bottom far left are thought to be fragments of circle stone 28 which
 stood directly above.
