Gib Hill Barrow

The Gib Hill Barrow viewed from the direction of Arbor Low.
This very prominent mound is thought to be the result of  a Bronze Age round barrow being built on top of much earlier Neolithic long barrow.
This superimposition here of one monument on top of another echoes that  at the Arbor Low henge itself, only 300m away to the NE.
Both of the Gib Hill monuments are said to be surrounded by associated quarry ditches, but we could not see any trace of these during our visit.
