Belas Knap - Horned Forecourt

The megalithic false entrance in the centre of the horned forecourt.
All of the large stones are original with the exception of the lintel, this was removed during the excavation of 1863-5,
the stone in place today is a replacement. The small section of dry-stone walling between the centre stone and
the right pillar is also original. Although this was a false entrance, excavation revealed the remains of five children
incorporated into the blocking material along with animal bones, pottery sherds and a flint tool.
