Le Dehus

Large flat-based beaker.

Another heavily restored beaker, this example stands 15.2cm tall and bears stamped decoration.
There are three belts of hatched decoration running around the body of the vessel and beneath each
belt run three single lines. There is also a double line running just below the lip.
Note that Kendrick
(5) describes four hatched belts for this vessel.

This beaker was discovered by Lukis in September 1847 when he began excavation in the main
chamber on the area hidden beneath the large fallen piece of capstone 2. The remains of around
7 or 8 vessels were found here and it is thought that all of the beakers from Dehus were found in this area.
