This wonderful view of the passage grave
facade and forecourt has only been possible since the
restorations of the 1990's. Previous to this access to the passage was by means
of an offset concrete
tunnel, so no direct view into (or more importantly for the equinoctial
alignment, out of) the passage grave was possible.
Note the vertical alignment between the asymmetrically sited chapel crypt window and the
passage.
