The view SE out through the axial porthole doorway.
It is easy to mentally complete the broken
porthole stone and appreciate the
picture framed within. When the temple was roofed the interior would have been
in darkness and the light from this doorway would have shone the length of the
temple to the altar.
Note the double holes of a "V" slot fastening point low down on
the left side
of the porthole stone.
