Cousane stands on a small rise in a boggy field, it is a five stone circle and all stones are present.  The stones are very low, and If there is any grading to them it is very slight. At first, it was hard to make out the orientation of the axis, but then we noticed the symmetry that you can see in the picture above. The two stones in the foreground are the portals, both are long and rectangular in plan, the axial stone sits between the two rounded stones in the background at the west. The circle is surrounded by standing stones, within a 1km radius there are standing stones at the SE, NW, NE and NNE. The stone circle of Maughnaclea A lies less than a kilometre to the WSW.
