Maultanvally is a multi-stone Irish recumbent circle estimated to have had eleven stones originally. We counted seven circle stones on our visit including a really tiny stone at the east. The axial stone stands at the WSW, it is a wide, low stone with a very flat top. Along the WSW-ENE axis, the axial stone has an alignment to a distant hilltop, you can see this for yourself in our VR panoramas. Across the circle from the recumbent stands the surviving portal stone, it is the tallest remaining stone at 1.4m and is set radially. Within the circle lies a hefty slab of white quartz 1m square and 0.6m tall, this does not stand at the centre, and is therefore not on the circle axis.
