The outer faces of the recumbent and
surviving flanker seen from the south.
These stones are of coarse-grained grey granite rather than the local reddish
granite of the circle stones. The recumbent is
a fairly large specimen, 2.8m long, 1.3m high and 0.8m thick, and the flanker
stands at 1.7m tall. Surprisingly, given the
good state of preservation of the circle as a whole, there is no trace of the
missing eastern flanker.
