Described by Burl as " the finest of all centre-stone circles", Glenquickan is certainly in a very good state of repair. The circle stones are of grey granite and are small, we counted 29 including a stone at the WSW the appeared to be broken. The largest stones were all in the southeastern arc, and we wondered if this might have been deliberate height grading. The centre stone, also of granite, is large and about 1.8m high, it is not at the exact centre of the ring, it stands about 1m to the NNW of centre. The interior of the circle is paved with tightly packed small stones, although this is difficult to see because of the turf covering.
