The cairn viewed from the NNW along the upper chamber entrance passage axis.
Most of the cairn "hump" seen here is a turf covered concrete dome built to protect the upper chamber remains.
The circular retaining wall around the cairn is broken only by the upper chamber entrance passage. Note the recess in the west (right) side of the
passage entrance, this is an original feature bounded by an upright slab, one of only two inserted in the external walling. The true width of the passage
can be seen where its walling resumes just in front of the modern door.
