Tomnaverie recumbent stone circle - 2005

Tomnaverie from the South East.
This photo reveals the way the circle interior rises towards the centre, this is due to the remnants of the internal
ring-cairn which is a typical component feature of Scottish recumbent circles. The surviving cairn material and the outer
kerb stones of the ring-cairn dot the area enclosed by the circle stones.
