The internal ring-cairn at Whitehill has survived quite well, the central bulge being easily visible, but we did not see the "veritable rampart" of  outer kerbstones described by Burl.  Although the site is overgrown, ordinary cairn material was much in evidence, and a raised  "causeway" of stones is visible extending  from the inner face of the recumbent to the cairn. The circle itself has not faired well, only the recumbent, western flanker, and one circle stone still stand, we counted nine other possible fallen circle stones
