Wideford Hill

North wall of southern side-chamber.
The wall here is 1.3m wide at floor level, the chamber is 1.9m long and 2.2m high in the centre.
Petrie discovered a hole in the lower right part of this wall leading to a "passage" about 2.5m long, he thought that this was a genuine part of the original
structure. There is no large lintel stone in the wall, all other original openings have one, so we doubt the hole was an original doorway, but as the internal structure
of the cairn was so intact when opened, it is hard to see how the hole in the walling came to be.
The hole has since been made good and a vertical joint is visible in the centre of the walling where this was done.
