The northern "corner" of the intramural room.
The northern side of the porthole doorway
to the northern outer apse is just visible far left
and the "oracle hole" piercing slab 7 is centre left, note how the
upright to the left of the hole
effectively covers most of the wall slab, perhaps explaining the reason for
locating the hole
at the very edge of the slab.
Note the large
groove cut into the apse wall slab centre right, this once supported one
side of a stone shelf that spanned
the room here. The other side of the shelf was supported on two
small pillars which stood on
the two flat slabs that can be seen paving this area, a second shelf
was set 80cm above the first.
