The eastern oracle hole viewed from within the intramural room.

This photo reveals the tapering in of the sides of the hole towards the top that was concealed by perspective in the
outer shot. Although heavily eroded today, it looks very much as though the slab used to form the fourth wall of the hole
had a finely finished surface that was probably flush and almost seamless with the inner face of the larger slab.
We can only speculate as to the strange traffic that took place through this aperture.
