The entrance to the rear intramural room.
The rear intramural chamber is
actually completely with in the wall of Temple 2 and is accessed via
the heavily lintelled doorway that opens where the walls of the two
temples meet. In the photo above
we are looking SE from behind Temple 3, the outer wall of which is visible
on the left, the NW section
of the outer wall of Temple 2 runs from the doorway to the far right. The
jumble of heavy stones just to
the right of the doorway are original walling elements, the neat dry-stone masonry
to the right of this is
modern reconstruction and the tall stones far right are those flanking the
terminal altar.
