The outer face of the recumbent stone.
Composed of white granite and possibly
transported some distance to this site, this 10 ton plus stone
has the unusually flat outer face seen here. Lichen growth has dulled much of
its reflectivity, but this would
have been quite a "moonlight mirror" when first emplaced.
